Just in: Dior Homme’s collaboration with Dan Witz is now in stores
Fashion x art
At Dior Homme's AW17 show earlier this year, Kris Van Assche presented a contemporary take on suits that will appeal to the millennial dandy: slim fitting jackets were paired with loose pants, and most came with a touch of flourish, whether enveloped in unusual textures or exposed stitching. But most eye-catching of them all were the closing looks—a series of brazen, graphic ensembles created in collaboration with artist Dan Witz, including a full-sequinned suit.
Witz is well known for his hyper-realistic Most Pit series of paintings, which are meticulously handpainted—each canvas takes several months to complete—based on photographs he snaps at actual punk shows. Van Assche himself is a collector of the artist's work, which is how the collaboration came about. In the collection, Witz's hyper-realistic images appear on suits, outerwear, bags and shoes.
