PFW SS16: Chloé
Clare Waight Keller gave Chloé S/S'16 an element of surprise, one that didn't quite fit into her usual bohemian, flowy aesthetic: sporty silhouettes via retro silk tracksuits reminiscent of Adidas's side-striped trackpants.
A Chloé woman is insouciant and free-spirited, not succumbing to decadences of any sort, but is equally as charming as she is simplistic. And you can see her wearing rainbow hued billowy crepon trousers, cold-shoulder tops in pretty pastels, and burgundy dungarees in the summer while staying cool and chic.
One can always expect a touch of hippie romanticism with Keller, and it's obvious with rainbow floaty dresses, braided tassel and bow detailing, and airy lace frocks. But her take on frayed, stonewashed denim is refreshing—look 20's smocked off-shoulder dress is a fine example of elevating everyday materials for a more refined veneer.
