NYFW SS16: Jason Wu
Subdued glamour
This season, Jason Wu gives us a taste of his dressmaking origins with beautiful tailoring work from cocktail dresses to sleek pant suits
Jason Wu's collection was inspired by one word—glamour—and it was subtly imbued in his pieces; while some had a minimalistic hue to them, some featured beautiful, intricate lace work.
Ruffles were of great significance. Wu gave the flounce treatment in varying degrees, from frilly necklines to frayed swaying hems. One of the best looks of the night was a gorgoeous ruffled cocktail dress—a lovely embodiment of spring pink.
Accompanying some of the looks were sleek, structured bags, with python motifs making the occasional appearance, complementing the collection with a sophisticated chic finish.
