Bohemian and beautiful

MFW SS16: Etro

Etro’s bohemian folk sentiment in the S/S’16 collection was a distinct—albeit not dissimilar—departure from the usual paisley motifs found in the label’s past seasons. It was a collection that would evoke the hidden romantic in every lady, and for every ethereal movement of the lace tiered dress there were dainty embroidered florals that made it seem all the more dreamy than it already was.

Veronica Etro expertly used plenty of lace and ribbons, coupled with frills, ruching and smocking for an overall Eastern European look dating back to the 19th and 20th century. As per her collection inspiration—”Nomadic Garden” was the term—dance-inspired accessories such as lace-up ballet flats and boots and ribbon chokers played along thematically.
