Cut-out bout

Bold lashes and wearable silhouettes were the name of the game at Thomas Tait's SS16 presentation

Thomas Tait's inspiration for his Spring/Summer '16 collection came from three interestingly different references—midcentury collage, tribal artistry and industrial design—resulting in a medley of ensembles that was modern with a '60s flair.

Notable circular cut-out motifs made frequent appearances in the collection, from eclipse-esque windows to voyeuristic embroidered detailing, giving his pieces a unique, signature statement.

Fresh, dewy skin was in order, but some models bore distinctive 3D architectural lashes—custom-built lashes secured with a rim of wire on the outer ends; a bold Twiggy-inspired look.
