Calvin Klein Collection Pre-Fall 2016

Something that stood out for a collection created by the master of minimalism Francisco Costa, was the visually arresting play with well-tailored textures—overly-long hemlines made for a softer look, despite its pairing with a stiff suede coat; and the same effect resulted from detachable shearling and faux fur cuffs on coats.

In an earthy palette of black, pink-beige and camel, the collection was presented in a way that was sophisticated enough to intrigue, yet offering a dose of modernity that wasn’t overdone: slit sleeves on blazers, sizable metal hardware snap closures, a languid oversized sweater worn with skirt (likely the fall wardrobe staple look to have right now), and so on.

What we love? A coat and flat-front pants combo that seemingly looked like a one-piece outfit, a luxurious leather coat with shearling cuffs and panels in the front, and the casual, folded clutch that seemed more of a (welcoming) aesthetic addition than of a functional purpose.
