New month, new bags: July '21 edition—from Louis Vuitton, Dior, Burberry and more
In the bag
Marking the mid-year point (how are we already halfway into 2021?), the month of July sees new collaborations between brands and industries, as well as new capsules and launches from the AW21 runway to prepare you for the incoming fall season:
Loewe Goya Bag
If you're in the market for a new investment piece, Loewe's latest statement bag is more than a worthy candidate. The Goya family made its debut in the AW21 runway collection and immediately caught our eye for its compact functionality and graphic simplicity. Handcrafted in a new silk calfskin (in reflection of the house's leather craft heritage), the bag is elevated with a gold Anagram closure that adds a touch of luxury, Loewe style, without being too over the top. Inside, multiple compartments and zippers are fitted to keep essential belongings safe and organised while an adjustable clasp on the outside allows it to be versatile enough to be worn over the shoulder, crossbody or as a clutch wherever you see fit.
Prepared for every occasion, Loewe's latest family member comes available in three sizes—the Goya, Goya Small and the Accordion clutch––across a vibrant palette that ranges from muted tones of warm desert and avocado green to candy-coloured shades of bright yellow, cyan and red. There’s also sleek black and soft white if you want something more classic. It's minimal enough to be a staple for the everyday with just the right amount of stylishness to turn heads.

Dioramour Capsule Collection
Dioramour is the gift that keeps on giving, so why not relish in its celebration of love and gift yourself (or a loved one) this season? The latest renewal of Dior's capsule collection draws inspiration from the world of fairy tales in order to inject a bit of magic and fun into the humdrum of lockdown life. House classics are remixed across combinations of red, black and white, and given a lovable spin through variations of heart motifs that provide endlessly adorable options and exemplify the house's signature savoir-faire.
D'Royaume d'Amour designs adorn a medium Lady D-lite bag in red and white embroidery. The signature Dior book tote, on the other hand, takes on new facades that see it vary from cutouts in red calfskin to a tricolour decoration of D-Chess heart motifs. For something more feminine, there's always the Dior Caro bag clad in its iconic Cannage stitching, now embellished with heart motifs to give its eye-catching quilted texture a touch of playfulness. Its detachable chain strap allows the medium shape to be worn in multiple ways for both day and night. Additionally, the sleek lady Dior receives a similar treatment in lambskin that comes in different colours as well as three sizes: medium, mini and micro. If you're looking for something more miniature to make a statement, counterparts to the original Caro are also available in a heart silhouette as well as a micro round pouch that are just as easy-to-wear as its progenitor.
The Dioramour collection is now available in Dior boutiques.MORE INFO
Fendi First Bag
Another strong statement that made its debut during the AW21 runways is the Fendi First Bag, a purse boasting a tilted Fendi monogram as its closure in celebration of the Maison's off-kilter irreverence. The oversized metal F clasp is bound in tone on tone and finished with gold metalwork, then presented atop a deconstructed clutch silhouette that accentuates its sleek congruous lines and minimalist design. A bag strap and foldable hooks allow it to be styled in different ways: crossbody for convenience or under your armpit as models so stylishly did on the catwalk.
The Fendi First comes in three sizes ranging from mini to medium, rendered in soft nappa leather to shearling and exotics. Currently, its available online in the leather across different muted colours of pink, beige, black and dark brown, alongside a natural-coloured python leather. Peek inside and you'll find a surprise as its different variations feature different linings that include the iconic FF jacquard to smooth leather.
The Fendi First collection is online at www.fendi.com with select models only available for pre-order.MORE INFO
Burberry's TB Summer Monogram Collection
An ode to founder Thomas Burberry, the TB Summer Monogram collection finds its third iteration by chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci inspired by the optimism of a new season and the spirit of summer. A new colourway of cobalt blue, deep royal blue and mid grey is introduced to refresh the bold interlocking TB initials of the monogram across a collection of lightweight pieces adorned by the inimitable Naomi Campbell in its futuristic campaign. Or rather, a CGI embodiment of Naomi created by visual artist Frederik Heyman who blends nature and technology to create visuals that simultaneously play on Burberry's house code of duality.
Across its bags, there are two versions of the small Lola bag available in quilted monogram lambskin and in two colours: cobalt and black, or a black and grey model accentuated by bright red lines. You'll also find eco-conscious variations of more practical models that include a slouchy beach tote and cylindrical micro bag crafted in an e-canvas primarily made up of renewable resources that require less water and has a smaller carbon footprint; as well as their 1990s streetwear staple bumbag in Econyl––a sustainable nylon yarn made from regenerated fishing nets and fabrics straps.

Louis Vuitton Felt Line
First unveiled during Virgil Abloh's AW21 show in January, Louis Vuitton's new Felt Line features the Maison's most sustainable accessories yet. Introducing three tactile travel and shoulder bags emblazoned with the signature LV monogram, the new range is crafted in a combination of eco-responsible materials to underscore the brand's commitment to circular creativity.
Across the jacquard bags are designs that were introduced by Abloh during his first Louis Vuitton show: a Keepall, a Keepall XS and a soft trunk––all meticulously crafted in organic cotton, recycled wool, 100 per cent recycled polyester derived from deadstock, and recycled plastic. The result is a gorgeously textured finish that give rise to its inspiration of moving blankets, further punctuated by lurex thread tufting that creates a kaleidoscopic mirage effect throughout its signature monogram pattern. And what of its straps and handles? Only leather certified by LWG (the most exacting environmental label for tanning) was used, of course.
Light and practical, it's the ultimate accessory to keep you on the go with the environment in mind.
The new Felt Line is available at select shops, via the Louis Vuitton app or online at www.louisvuitton.com.MORE INFO
