Celine Triomphe shoulder bag
First introduced by Hedi Slimane in his debut collection for Celine, the Triomphe bag has fast become a new icon of the Maison. And now, two years later, the designer has added a new silhouette to the mix in the form of the Triomphe shoulder bag. Made to be carried snugly under the arm, the design continues to spotlight the signature logo—inspired by the chain surrounding the Arc de Triomphe—that was created by founder Céline Vipiana back in the ‘70s.
Despite its size, the arm candy is more versatile than you think. Whether you’re pairing it with a rugged get-up (à la Blackpink’s Lisa) or with a dressy number (as seen on Kaia Gerber), the bag has proved to be a great finishing touch. Take your pick from the calfskin, shiny calfskin, and the Triomphe Canvas materials.
GG Multicolour collection
GG Monogram, but make it rainbow. This season, Gucci’s emblematic pattern has been reimagined through a colourful lens, and trust us when we say that it’s the perfect pick-me-up. Dubbed the GG Multicolour collection, the line is said to be “a celebration of the brand’s past, present, and future”, as creative director Alessandro Michele has constantly given the motif a contemporary take, be it fusing it with our favourite Disney characters or pretty florals.
The collection comprises ready-to-wear pieces and accessories, but bag-wise, there's an array of signature designs to choose from, from the GG Marmont pieces to backpacks, belt bags, totes and more.
Fendi Bijou Baguette
A new season is never complete without a mini bag, and this round, the piece to note goes to Fendi’s Bijou Baguette. Crafted from cotton, the soft crocheted piece is framed with a FF Baguette clasp that seals the look with a vintage allure. While it may be designed as a phone holder, who are we kidding? We’d gladly wear it as an everyday bag.
To maximise its must-have factor, aside from the vertical design, the brand also introduced the Coin Holder in the same material. Don't only use it to store your knick-knacks though—cinch it onto bigger bags for that cute touch.
Alexander McQueen Curve bag
Looking for a new carrier to splurge on this SS21? Alexander McQueen’s Curve bag might just be the one. Introduced in a contemporary bucket-inspired silhouette, the piece is also a nostalgic nod to the Maison’s past. Creative director Sarah Burton referenced the iconic harness silhouette that has been a signature of the late founder since the start.
The bag comes with a magnetic double-flap closure that folds over to create a distinctive curve, and it’s finished with harnesses that hug its body. Thanks to the adjustable strap, the Curve can be carried across the body or as a shoulder bag.
Louis Vuitton’s Summer 2021 capsule collection
“A splash of colour, a wave of iridescent light, a breath of fresh air, the joy of sunrays caressing one’s skin”. Louis Vuitton’s latest women’s capsule line may be created with a summer paradise in mind, but you don’t have to be lounging by the pool or at the beach to enjoy the collection.
From the classic Neverfull to the new-favourite Multi Pochette to the roomy Onthego, each bag features the oversized Monogram pattern in a gradient palette—including Malibu sunrise yellows and Riviera blues—that evokes the dreaminess of summer. Aside from the colourful pieces, there are also options in a raffia material that’s made from recycled cotton and sustainably sourced viscose.
