For ladies and gents: 7 Pairs of Hermès AW19 shoes you should be buying next
Shoes, shoes, shoes
"The late afternoon light has given away to a constellation in the sky... The air is electric." That was the show notes of Hermès Autumn/Winter 2019 show back in February, where "In The Pursuit of Dreams" has been the theme of the year for the French Maison. Clothing-wise, leather, of course, was the main focus of the collection. The supple material worked like fabric, accompanied with jockey-inspired details, sensual pleats and a play on volumes. But aside from that (and the mini Constance belt bags that we're currently lusting over), take a closer look at the shoes this season and you'll notice there's more than meets the eye.
The brand continues its dreamy theme for its men and women's shoe collections this AW19, with wings as its recurring motif. Pierre Hardy, who has been in charge of the shoe designs at Hermès for three decades knows exactly what he'd like to transpire—a refined yet playful collection of footwear that is rich in craftsmanship. From sandals to boots, the shoes are made with a mix of textures, fabrics, leathers, and buckle finishing, with pops of emblematic prints sealing the designs. Expect a colour palette of red and roses in the women collection, exuding femininity like no other. On the other hand, the men's collection can be summed up in two words: cool edge. Classic footwear is amped up with sporty details such as notched rubber, crepe soles and woven skin that results in a line of bold hybrid silhouettes. Colour-wise, black, navy blue and brown took centre stage, peppered with touches of Mediterranean blue and brick and Jupiter reds.
