Five ways you can inject a menswear vibe to your look

Menswear inspired outfits are always a fresh breath of air if you ever tire of donning the same ol’ skirt/dress and heels every other day. But merely throwing on a solid blazer or a pair of trousers doesn’t quite cut it—why not go all out while you’re inspired to look as dapper as your fellow male peers? Here are the five requisites apart from the usual we think might make your masculine-inclined look fetching:

Tie or bowtie

There’s nothing like a good knotted tie or bowtie to elevate your look, but we recommend donning bowties sparingly unless you’re planning to make that your “thing.” Solid colour shirts go well with printed ties/bowties, and make sure to keep your outfit simple and understated.

Dive watch

A functional dive watch is what you need next, instead of the usual diamond-encrusted feminine timepieces you go for. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Lady 300 M is the perfect accessory to take you from the dining room to diving underwater.

Oxfords

Nothing like a sturdy pair of classic oxfords like Robert Clergerie’s black leather ‘Pier’ oxfords to make your shirt-and-pants combo streamlined and stylish. An almond-toe pair like this with tonal stitching makes it a timeless pair you can wear time and time again.

Tuxedo shirt

Take formal menswear dressing one step further with a proper women’s poplin tuxedo shirt such as this pick from Stella Jean. A pleated front bib, winged collar and French cuffs are the nitty-gritty details that you need to have for a contemporary look that doesn’t stray too far.

Cufflinks

And lastly, who says cufflinks can only be men’s gifts? Complete your crisp white shirt that you’re wearing with a pair of gilded cufflinks from Marni. Made of clear acetate and studded with black crystals on a gold-tone metal structure, this pair offers an ironic feminine twist to your outfit.
