Caroline de Maigret takes Chanel’s latest derbies out for a spin

What makes a pair of derbies the perfect footwear alternative to spruce up any ensemble lies within its androgynous cut and polished exterior—these nuances can make any feminine look edgy, whether worn with a sundress or rolled up jeans. Chanel Cruise 2016/17 derbies imbued all the elements of the traditional men’s footwear with a wide welt and sewn effect on natural leather soles; while staying true to the house’s heritage with the iconic two-tone signature that was made popular by Mademoiselle Chanel in 1957.

If you’ve always wondered how to rock a pair of derbies ever so effortlessly, Chanel ambassador and spokeswoman Caroline de Maigret (incidentally also a Parisian muse and model) demonstrates how to pull it off while injecting a dash of boyish allure. Donning derbies in a combination of leathers (from creased, smooth, to perforated) in an array of sassy colours such as pink, silver and gold, and black and white, de Maigret shows us her idea of sophistication that’s underlined with a masculine aesthetic in this video below:

You can also take up salsa in Chanel’s derbies, as proven by supermodels Lindsey Wixson and Binx Walton in the latest Cruise 2017/17 film:

Chanel 2016/17 Cruise collection derbies will be available at Chanel KLCC from 16 November 2016 onwards.
