Arm candy of the week: Givenchy’s Whip bag
Crack the whip
From the Versace Tribute X bag to the Marc Jacobs' Softshot 21, and Bottega Veneta's The Pouch to the Louis Vuitton New Wave belt bags, when it comes to arm candies, this season has seen some of the most trendy offerings yet. But if you think you've seen them all, we've got a new bag to add to your shopping cart next. After all, with a new month, comes a new bag right? Debuted on the Spring/Summer 2019 runway, Givenchy's latest bag, the Whip, is named after the leather braiding and knots used in traditional whips.
Introduced in a structured trapezoid shape, the bag may look like a typical clutch at first glance, but trust us when we say there's more to it than meets the eye. Firstly, it can actually be carried three ways—tote with the top-handle, carry it with the hand-tied strap or sling it across your body. It's a sleek pick for a day-to-night bag for sure. And if none of the seven colours are to your liking, the Whip also comes in three aquatic snakeskin—in Karung with hints of bright yellow, in graphic Elaphe with hints of black, and in emerald green Ayers with hints of royal blue. The piece comes complete with antique gold hardware that elevates the sophisticated design with a touch of shine, and a hand-knotted leather tassel that seals the look.
If you're looking for something slightly more casual for the weekends, the Whip bag also comes in the form of a belt bag, and we absolutely love how sleek and chic it is. Featuring a single compartment only, pull the long zip and you'll be able to take a good look at all your knick-knacks. The chain details at the side can be lengthened depending on how you'd like to wear it—around the waist or across your décolletage.
The Whip bag will be in available in the Givenchy Pavilion store in early April 2019.
