Now at Palais Royal: ‘Self’, a project by Saint Laurent

After his much-talked about collection debut for Saint Laurent in Paris, Anthony Vaccarello blazes on with an off-runway project titled Self, now showing at the Palais Royal for one weekend only in conjunction with Paris Photo. Curated by Vaccarello, Self is an art series that captures the many facets of the Saint Laurent personality through the eyes of different artists. An artistic commentary on society, it represents the freedom of self-expression without censorship — which is very much in line with the House’s core values.

The first of the series, dubbed Self 01, features the works of Daidō Moriyama, a prominent Japanese photographer known for his black-and-white images depicting the breakdown of traditional values in his country post-war. If you happen to be in the City of Light this weekend, catch the exhibition in the Galerie d’Orléans courtyard in front of Palais Royal. If not, here’s a glimpse of what’s on show:
