The foursome reunites!

Fans of this horror-comedy road movie were sent into a frenzy when the trailer of the highly-anticipated Zombieland sequel dropped yesterday. Just in time for the tenth anniversary of the original movie, Zombieland: Double Tap will see the original cast (Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson and Abigail Breslin) reprising their roles along with a host of new characters played by Zoey Deutch, Rosario Dawson, Thomas Middleditch and Luke Wilson.

The movie is set to hit theaters in October this year. For now, here’s the official synopsis and trailer.

“Through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.”

Random yet fitting

You may have heard of Lil Nas X, but if you haven’t, here’s a brief introduction: He is an American singer who rose to international fame when his country rap breakout single Old Town Road went viral thanks to a ‘Yeehaw Challenge‘ on the Tik Tok app. The song eventually debuted on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart at number 19 but was prematurely removed in March due to it “being not country enough”. Since then, the song has garnered the attention of big celebs like Will Smith, Billy Ray Cyrus, Diplo and the Avengers cast. So now that you’re caught up, here’s the collab news you won’t want to miss.

The Atlanta-based rapper just released a new remix titled ‘Seoul Town Road’ with Korean rapper RM aka the leader of BTS. This surprise track comes one week before Lil Nas X is set to break the record for most weeks spent at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart!

Listen to it below.

2019 VMA nominations are in

Speaking of Lil Nas X, the 20-year-old is nominated alongside Billie Eilish in this year’s MTV Video Music Awards ‘Best New Artist’ category. Besides that, Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift both lead the nominations with 10 nods each in categories including, ‘Video of the Year’, ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Best Pop’.

While the official presenter and performer list have yet to be announced, we do know that this year’s show will be hosted by comedian and actor Sebastian Maniscalco and two new categories, ‘Best K-Pop’ and ‘Video for Good’ will be introduced.

The VMAs will premiere on MTV Asia (Astro CH 713) on Tuesday, 27 August at 8pm (pre-show) and 9pm (main show). The repeat telecast will air on the same day at 11.55pm.

Be still our hearts

One of the main headlines we saw earlier this week was news of Riverdale couple Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart going their separate ways after being together for two years. It started with a report of how they were “keeping their distance during the San Diego Comic Con“, then things escalated and soon after, every news outlet were running with the breakup story. Fans have been anxiously waiting for the pair to confirm but there had been no update from either party… until this morning.

UNPRECEDENTED: Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart consume the flesh of ‘reliable sources’ to fuel their bacchanalian sex cult.

Both Cole and Lili shared a picture of their W Magazine cover on Instagram with similar captions that sounded like a jab towards the ‘sources’ who claimed they’ve broken up. Which is ironic considering the fact that the same cover article (sort of) confirms the separation.

In the article, the W Magazine writer shared his initial suspicions of an impending breakup because the couple requested to be interviewed separately. However, he also went on to mention that the reason was due to the pair wanting to be known as separate identities instead of always being paired up.

So make of that what you will but we think there’s nothing to worry about and they’re (obviously) still together.

Dad would be proud

Bindi Irwin announced her engagement to her long-time boyfriend, professional wakeboarder Chandler Powell. In the Instagram post uploaded yesterday, the 21-year-old daughter of the late Australian TV personality and famed wildlife expert Steve Irwin, revealed that she said “yes” to the love of her life when he proposed at the Australia Zoo on her birthday.

According to People magazine, Florida-native Chandler first met Bindi in November 2013 when he was in Australia for a professional wakeboarding competition. He decided to stop by the Zoo where the Irwin family lives and works. He met Bindi when she was giving tours that day and the rest was history.

Hi Netflix, can you bring this to Malaysia too?

Last Thursday, Netflix confirmed their plans to launch a cheaper mobile-only subscription package for their users in India – making them the first and the only country to get this benefit. This news came after the streaming service published their Q2 report which reported an almost 50% dip in the company’s projected paid subscriber growth.

The lower-priced plan which will roll out later this year is going to cost Rs ₹199 (approximately RM12) per month and it’ll serve as the fourth India plan in addition to the existing basic (Rs ₹499), standard (Rs ₹649) and premium (Rs ₹799) plans. One thing to note, this plan is restricted to a single mobile device (either a smartphone or a tablet at a time) with standard 480p streams.

Unfortunately, there are no signs of Netflix launching a similar service in Malaysia…yet! We can only hope since they’ve already tested out the service here last year.
