Happening now: The 8th International Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival

Malaysia’s first and longest-running environmental film festival is back this weekend to redefine the “green experience.” Forged by not-for-profit organisation EcoKnights, the festival combats the rife issues of environmental concerns by providing a platform to promote ecological consciousness. But for the organisers, they don’t get the message across by simply outlining desolate statistics and such – the festival instead lifts the spirits and engages its audiences with three days filled with events that span the serious and the entertaining.

It is here that film aficianados can immerse themselves in an array of over a hundred environmental films that advocate for changes to protect the planet, from animations, to feature films and documentaries, to short films and such. On top of that, there will be appearances by international filmmakers, community workshops and talks on both sustainability and filmmaking, a Green Market featuring 75 local green businesses, an art exhibition at White Box Publika, as well as 20 live performances and activities for all walks of life.

The festival runs from today (16th October) until this Sunday (18th October). Head to KLEFF 2015’s website for more information.
