Clive Owen gets steamy in his Broadway debut ‘Old Times’

He may be best known for his action-packed films on the big screen, but Clive Owen makes his Broadway debut in none other than what reviewers call an incredibly sexy, suspenseful drama, Old Times. Taking the stage with co-stars Eve Best and Kelly Reilly, the opening night performance was presented by Jaeger-LeCoultre.

An unsettling drama that delves into the intricacies of desire and blurred realities by Nobel Laureate and English playwright Harold Pinter, Old Times was directed by Douglas Hodge, also featuring music by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke. Hodge, who is a frequent performer and director of Pinter’s works, takes the reins of the haunting and passionate revival.

In the play, Owen takes on the role of Deely, a man eager to meet Anna (Eve Best) who is a mysterious friend of Deely’s wife Kate (Kelly Reilly) from the past. But as they begin to walk down memory lane, the night quickly turns into a quiet, seductive battle for power as long-simmering feelings of fear and jealousy begin to take over.

As The New York Post puts it, “Clive Owen, Eve Best and Kelly Reilly generate such heat, you may need a cold shower after this show.”
