A peek at what’s to come at Disney’s new Star Wars theme parks
In a galaxy far, far away...
In the near future, Disneyland Park in California and Walt Disney World in Florida will play home to Star Wars-themed lands. First announced in September last year, it was revealed that visitors will be able to undertake a "customised secret mission" on the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo's iconic spaceship, amongst other immersive experiences.
In anticipation of the exciting things to come, Disney Parks Blog has unveiled the image above, an artist's impression of the Star Wars theme parks that are being built.
"Nestled between towering spires of rock, this thriving port contains a seemingly familiar architecture of markets, landing zones and buildings (click here for a larger version of the image above). Look closely and you may find hints of some of the thrilling experiences that are coming – like the Millennium Falcon peeking out of one of the cargo bays, marking the location where guests will get the opportunity to pilot the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy."
No official opening date has been announced yet, but the 14-acre land is set to become the largest-ever single-themed land expansion at Disneyland Resort.
