Prada has set a new standard for statement lips, giving all the colours of the rainbow a second (silver) place by claiming the gold itself, literally. The 24-karat gold coated lips were undoubtedly the most opulent beauty look on the runway however the maison has amplified its eccentricity with a daring slicked hair do featuring a few sideburn-mimicking strands glued to the forehead.
Although nowhere near as extravagant as Prada’s metallic lips, accented blue eyes made a significant appearance at Day 2 with Anteprima’s blue inner corners, as well as at Byblos, who opted for a short and sharp blue flick above the eyelid. Eyes aside, blue also made its way to unconventional places around the face at Daniela Gregis with blue squares resting on cheeks, above the eyebrow and at the middle of lips. Amidst the sea of blue, Max Mara opted for a unique twist on the accented eye look with intense red painted eyebrows paired with an emphasized back comb.
Trading in long locks for a lighter do this season, Moschino adopted a boy-cut hairstyle that resembled Linda Evangelista’s 90s crop, balancing out this masculine feel with a feminine feline flick. Also embracing the short hair look was Fendi who matched a strong black cartoon-like line above the eye with a side-parted faux bob that reminded us of Gwenyth Paltrow’s character Margot in Royal Tenenbaums.
