Haute Couture AW16's biggest beauty trend is all about an eyeful of drama
Windows to your soul
Just when you thought that the no-makeup makeup look was still trending, Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2016 made it clear that it's time to bring back your eyeshadow palettes, faux eyelashes and eyeliners in every hue. While most of us only seek to aspire and be inspired by beautiful handmade pieces such as Fendi's mink coat that took 1,200 hours to construct and Chanel's stone-encrusted gown, the next closest thing we can do is to emulate the breathtaking beauty looks.
This season, lips are taking a backseat (save for glittery amazing lips at Atelier Versace) and it's time to highlight your beautiful peepers. If you dig bold drama—think faux eyelashes and loads of smoky eyes, these looks below will whet your makeup appetite: Armani Privé's glossy smoky look are perfect for an evening out, while Jean Paul Gaultier broke a major rule in the beauty book with shades of green and red over the eyes and lips. But if fall hues don't tickle your fancy, Schiaparelli and Atelier Versace's vivid orange and blue might just be up your alley.
