Atelier Versace AW16 just made blue eyeshadow and glitter cool again
Too glamorous for words
One thing we love about Haute Couture week is that it makes for great visual indulgence, especially in all the beautiful (but practically untouchable) gowns that are almost out of this world. But Atelier Versace upped the beauty game this season, bringing in two of the '90s most popular makeup trends and making them undeniably glamorous.
You haven't heard the phrase "dripping in glitter" until you've seen the lips of models from the show. Rumour has it that makeup artist Pat McGrath has a line of glitter pigments in the making, all thanks to major teasers she's been dropping since the show. But before that happens (and sells out under a minute), take on this trend with a dazzling hue of deep red lipgloss and a lot of glitter pigments. M.A.C Cosmetics' Glitter in Red has got the right amount of sparkle and shine effect for this look. Fret not over glitter fallout, as you can always clean up with a cotton bud and oil-based makeup remover.
If you're more of an eye-makeup person, these exaggerated winged look in a cool icy blue hue will make your summer dreams come true. Use a cream eyeshadow for a more defined look such as Clé de Peau's Cream Eye Colour Solo, or go with a waterproof eye pencil for an easier, precise application along with a smudge-free look throughout the day. Remember to highlight the inner corners of the eyes and the middle of the upper eyelids to subtly open up the eyes.
