The former US First Lady shared an au natural selfie to Instagram on her birthday, giving us a rare peek at her natural coils. Her voluminous layers add an excellent bounce and texture to her look that is only better accentuated by her subtle highlights. Further, if anyone knows what Mrs Obama is doing in terms of skincare, let us know—no one has any business looking this flawless at 57 years old!

The best-selling author had a lovely sentiment to share along with her birthday post: “I know this past year has been difficult for us all on so many levels, so I just hope you all are taking care of yourselves and finding joy in the smallest moments. Love you all.”

Sawayama shared a snap to Instagram debuting a killer set of faux microbangs. Though her fringe naturally falls around her brow, the singer had them curled up into a truly Bettie Page-approved moment.

TIP: If you’re looking to recreate the look, all you’ll need is a curling iron and (potentially) a few spare bobby pins!

In addition to the great hair day, the singer also sported some truly fierce makeup—with a purpose! On the fun purple-peach look, Sawayama explains in the caption that she has “been doing lewks of the day cos I realised I hadn’t worn makeup in forever (unless it’s on a shoot) and it helps me get motivated for the day even if I’m not going anywhere!”

Indeed, she has the right idea—if the MCO 2.0 has you down, keeping on top of your grooming routine can do wonders in restoring some long-lost motivation.

Face-framing layers, down-to-there lengths, and a pastel orange hue? Count us in(to it). While the look is clearly the work of a wig, we love seeing the model experiment with her look. In fact, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen her sport this orange number—the last time this particular wig made an appearance was as a part of Law’s Halloween costume last year. Dressed from head-to-toe in tangerine, the model’s costume was—you guessed it—a carrot! 10/10 for effort.
