The Globemaster marks a significant milestone for Omega: the result of a long and challenging journey, pioneering a new era in watchmaking. As the World’s First Master Chronometer, it is the first Omega timepiece to surpass the Master Chronometer testing standards set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), which is comprised of eight rigorous tests over ten days and known to be the toughest in the industry.
Oscar-winning actor and Omega ambassador Eddie Redmayne joined in the momentous launch, sporting a Globemaster on his wrist and speaking about Omega’s rich heritage and his love for classic, quality watches at the event: “There’s a romance to traditional watches—a history. There’s something sincere and honest about them, a sort of integrity. I love Omega’s legacy; watches for the Airforce, the first watch on the moon—it’s about storytelling. Omega’s history is unrivalled. Wearing something that’s classic but also modern, gives me confidence. It’s a wonderful thing because I don’t have to overthink it”.
