Inspired by the immense power of the moon, German luxury watchmakers Glashütte Original inaugurates new designs with moon phase displays of complexity and beauty for its Pano lines: the PanoMaticLunar for men and the PanoMatic Luna for women.
Since its relaunch in 2012 with classic versions, the Pano line enriches its designs with a burst of colours and new features including a moon phase complication. Alongside the elaborately formed dials that spotlight an off-centred arrangement of hour and minute hands, the moon and stars are complemented in gold or silver by dark blue or silver night skies. Powered by the Calibre 90-02, an automatic mechanical movement with a 42-hour power reserve, the PanoMaticLunar models are available in two variations—a dark blue dial with a polished/satin-brushed stainless steel case, and a red gold version paired with a matte black dial. With a sapphire crystal case back, wearers can admire its intricate mechanism that is enhanced with Glashütte features such as the three-quarter plate with striped finish, off-centre rotor, blued screws and hand-engraved balance bridge with duplex swan-neck fine adjustment.
In an iridescent shimmer of mother-of-pearl, this feminine line centres on a silver-coloured moon rising against a finely grained silver firmament. The model shifts its time display to the left of its dial, lending its right half to additional complications—its moon phase and Panorama date. In addition to rod-shaped brilliant-cut indexes and a bezel encrusted in 64 brilliant-cut diamonds, the timepiece is available in two dial variations—a dark Tahitian mother-of-pearl or a luminous white mother-of-pearl. At the heart of the 39.4mm diameter stainless steel case beats the same automatic movement as in the PanoMaticLunar, enhanced with the decorative refinements that are quintessential to the brand.
