Amidst the robust timepieces that flesh out Bell & Ross’ infantry-heavy influences, a more subdued collection was launched back at Baselworld 2017 to offer a slimmer take on the brand. With military DNA intact, the new introductions, dubbed the Vintage Collection, feature smaller diameters, thinner cases and a revamped silhouette.
Joining that lineup is the Bell & Ross Vintage BR V1-92 Military. This new model melds house codes with the history of aviation for a simplified utilitarian approach to the wristwatch. A 38.5 mm dial showcases a reading which emphasises the minutes on the large face reminiscent of navigation watches used by military pilots to calculate their direction or speed. A photoluminescence triangle—a feature that enables pilots to instantly get their bearings day or night—is present at 12 o’clock on this automatic mechanical instrument. Beige Superluminova indices and hour and minute hands cement the nostalgic tone.
