There are quite a few new hotels to anticipate its completion in the coming year but one of them has recently opened its doors, ready to welcome all. Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara is, as its name suggests, located in the heart of the affluent, up-and-coming Damansara Heights and is the hotel part of an integrated development. The other parts being two luxury condominium blocks, two corporate office towers and a lifestyle mall.
Designed by Wilson Associates, the centrepiece of the hotel is a sophisticated feature wall depicting Malaysia’s Wau Bulan through an Eiffel Tower sculpture. Of course, it’s not the only piece that pays homage to the rich Malaysian and French culture. How big is a room: It ranges from 43 to 105 square metres
Features of the room: The signature bedding concept by MyBed, WiFi and a selection of premium in-room amenities by Lanvin and Hermès.
Suite benefits: Guests will have access to the Club Millésime executive lounge as well as exclusive services such as complimentary breakfast, all-day refreshments, evening cocktails and more.
Dining: Five restaurants and bars which includes the signature all-day dining restaurant Kwee Zeen with its Pan-Asian cuisine; the Chinese restaurant Wan Chun Ting for authentic Cantonese and Imperial cuisinie; the casual French Riviera-inspired restaurant Nizza for a taste of French cuisine; and Le Bar for a fine selection of French wines and afternoon tea. There’s also a Nespresso lounge complete with TWG tea for those who prefer the latter.
Weddings and corporate events: There are six meeting rooms to choose from and one of them is the pillar-less 1,100-square metre ‘Wau Bulan’ Ballroom which can accommodate up to 800 guests.
Facilities: An outdoor pool, SO Spa and SO Fit. With five treatment rooms, sauna and steams, guest can unwind and be pampered by the signature SO Spa facial and massage treatments. It is also here where you can try the country’s first Moroccan Hammam bath treatment.
