Apple celebrated its iPhone’s 10th anniversary. Samsung strengthened its safety procedures and its Galaxy Note made its comeback. Huawei made its own AI chip, a world’s first. Including a depth of field effect for the rear cameras became a thing, with each brand giving it their own name to it: Bokeh Effect, Portrait mode, Live Focus, you name it.
Messaging also became a factor to be considered in the upgrade of phone models; Apple introduced Stickers and Animoji while Samsung offered Live Message. 2017 is also the year where users take their first step into the augmented reality (AR) world. It’s true that we were spoilt with so many gadgets this year but if all these new tech were offered in the last 12 months, we’re sure this is only the beginning of a new future for tech.
