It has been nearly thirty years since the debut of the first Air Max 1 and its radical technology that has transformed footwear design so greatly, it spurred a franchise. And clearly, there's no stopping it in its tracks as the silhouette marks another milestone: the lightest Air Max 1 ever, the Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Flyknit.

Fused with the transformative Nike technology Flyknit and led by designer Ben Yun, it took countless prototypes to reach its perfectly light state. The shoe features open Flyknit construction in the toe and tongue for ventilation while closed construction in the heel adds support. A no-sew rand just above the midsole connects to the original Air Max 1 and comfort is increased with the lightweight, flexible ultra tooling.

The Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Flyknit is available in men's and women's sizes and colorways starting 28 July 2016.
