Both traditional German companies, Rimowa and Steiff’s collaboration was only a matter of time. Their “Made in Germany” tag isn’t the only similarity as they were both founded in the 19th century and pride themselves in their craftsmanship. The quality stands in the Steiff Rimowa suitcases that are suitable for both young and old globetrotters.
On the characteristic silver aluminium shell of the suitcase model Rimowa Classic Flight—in a practical cabin size 52, to boot—is a walking Steiff teddy bear with the trademark “Steiff button in ear”; and on the handle hangs a small grey alpaca Steiff teddy bear. The beauty of the gorgeous suitcase doesn’t end at the exterior only. On the inside, it’s super fluffy as the suitcase is lined with the same grey alpaca material as the teddy bear, an iconic material to the Steiff brand.
Only 1,050 of the limited edition suitcase is made and available in Rimowa stores worldwide, with an additional 250 via Steiff shops and the Steiff museum as of October 2015. And now, it has finally arrived in Malaysia at a recommended retail price of RM5,050.
