It hasn't been a week since the Rio 2016 Olympic Games began and the news just came that Malaysia has won the first medal, thanks to our divers Pandelela Rinong and Cheong Jun Hoong. The pair won a silver medal in the women's 10m platform synchro with a total score of 344.34 points after five dives at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre.

Pandelela took to Instagram (are you following her and these 16 Malaysian Olympians yet?) to post a photo of her and Jun Hoong with their medals and captioned:

"4 years ago today I won my first Olympics bronze medal. Today I won my first Olympics silver medal and I'm not alone. @cheongjunhoong"

The gold medal went to China's Chen Roulin-Liu Huixia with a score of 354.00 while Canada's Meaghan Benfeito-Roseline Filion won the bronze medal with 336.18.

Pandelela's stint at the Rio 2016 Olympics is not over as she still has the women's 10m platform on 18 August.
