7 Things you can do this weekend: 24 – 25 September 2016

1. Art for Grabs: Family Squad at The School, Jaya One, 12pm – 8pm, 24 – 25 September

It’s back; a meaningful family affair thanks to a collaboration between Art for Grabs, Sisters in Islam and Jaya One aimed to inspire everyone to explore our creativity, learn about our rights, and find our inner superheroes. For this weekend, 90 art and activism booths, featuring homemade art and crafts as well as meaningful causes that make us proud to be Malaysian, will gather in one location and there will also be 13 events – including book launches, screenings, readings and discussions about how we can turn Malaysia into a big loving family – going on the side. Some of the talks that caught our interest include Politics: Where are our women?, a forum featuring actual women politicians, and Talking about the P-Word with Family, a talkshow on how we discuss politics with family members.
