Quiet times are coming

7 Things you can do this weekend: 2 - 3 July 2016
Who’s ready for the upcoming long weekend? Or does your holiday start this Saturday itself?

1. 'A Shucking Good Time' of oysters and wine pairing at Brussels Galerie, Bangsar South, 5pm - 8pm, 2 July

What better way to start your long weekend that a free flow feast of fresh US oysters paired with Sauvignon Blanc? Go in a group of six (or twelve) and you'll get an additional cheese and caviar platter (and a bottle of champagne).

Prices start from RM59. For more information, visit their event page

2. Gentle Flow Yoga community class at lululemon athletica KL, Bangsar, 10am, 2 July

This is a good time to try diving into yoga as this is a light session specially catered for the Ramadan season. Weave through mild Sun Salutations mixed with other asanas and feel your muscles stretch and focus on your breathing.

Admission is free so... first come, first mat. For more information, visit their event page.

3. Breath of Bliss wellness workshop at Organica Lifestyle, Bangsar, 2.30pm - 4.30pm, 2 July

Welcome the reality that half the year has gone by with this breath work session to reduce all that piled up stress, improve mental clarity and restore your overall wellbeing. Consider it similar to a meditation format but in a group and with guidance.

The workshop fee is RM60. For more information, visit their event page

4. Raya Clothes Swap at Impact Hub KL, Jalan Sentul, 11am - 3pm, 2 July

Here's a good place to start your last minute Raya shopping frenzy as there will be new pieces from exciting (and new) local brands and designers at special prices. Even better, you can bring your old clothes to swap for new ones! There will even be free and on-site alteration services too.

For more information, visit their event page

5. Take five minutes to try these fat-burning exercises at home

It's too hot outside anyway.

6. Try this golden milk recipe

Can you guess what it is?

7. Read up on what makes Raya in Malaysia unique

We're not the only country who celebrates it, but there are certain things we do that sets our Hari Raya apart.
