Chef Ali Bourji hails from Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai and he’ll be taking over the reins in the kitchen for a few days only. From authentic Lebanese Fattoush Salad to Cheese Rekakat to lamb kofta, you’ll be in for quite the gourmet treat.

What to expect: Home-cooked food, handmade goods, a secondhand book swap, workshops and charity organisations. Eat, swap books, do some good—all in one place. As this food market practises zero waste, do bring your own bag.

4. SaturdaySelects x Softsrve at Softsrve, Damansara Utama, 6pm-12am, 20 Aug

It’s a night of both indulging in ice cream and listening to new music—and maybe dance a little too. While you’re there, don’t forget to try out their new Watermelon Sorbet which looks absolutely Instagram-worthy.

5. MINIfest 2017 at Desa ParkCity, 3pm-10pm, 20 Aug

It’s a MINI affair with a big heart as there’ll be live performances featuring Paperplane Pursuit and Talitha Tan; plenty of food trucks; a marketplace with a huge variety of handmade and artisan items all sold right from the boot of MINIs; tons of activities for the whole family which includes a giant congkak and hot air balloon rides; and to top it all off, test drives with your favourite MINIs.

6. Leica M10 Photography Talk with Fulvio Bugani at Leica Store, Avenue K, 7pm-9pm, 21 Aug

Fulvio Bugani is an Italian documentary photographer who has worked with countless associations and NGOs such as Amnesty International and Medecins Sans Frontiere. Besides having his photographs published in TIME Lightbox, The Guardian and the like, he has also been awarded by World Press Photo in 2015 on transgenders in Indonesia. With a slew of experience under his belt, the international Leica ambassador for the Leica M10 has much to share and he’ll be in KL to give a talk and a Master Class (on 22 August and priced at RM1,200 per pax).

7. Shop these delicate cross-stitched pouches made by Burmese refugee women at Tanma Federation’s Pudu showroom

An organisation that empowers Burmese refugee women in Malaysia through various livelihood projects based on Fair Trade, Tanma Federation has recently unveiled these gorgeous pouches that, with your support, can help you look and feel good. At least 60 percent of the revenue go back to the artisan and are channeled towards running the women’s centres in Pudu.
