7 Things you can do this weekend: 18 – 19 June 2016

1. TRP x littlesyam Workhop at APW Bangsar, 9am – 5.30pm, 18 June

There’s just something about the art of letterpress printing and The Royal Press is hosting a workshop in collaboration with littlesyam, a crafter and bookbinder with over 20 years of experience, to share its techniques, which expands to bookbinding as well, and explore new ways to use it in current times.

The workshop is priced at RM300 per pax with partial proceeds going to the preservation of their machines and building restoration in Melaka. For more information, visit their website.

2. Objects for (M) Market at Awegallery, Taman Paramount, 12pm – 7pm, 18 June

Guys (and we mean this in its literal male definition), wouldn’t you agree that the majority of pop-up markets are more catered to gals? In conjunction with Father’s Day, one particular market will be focusing on the needs and interests of the urban man. From travel essentials to personal accessories to beauty goods, it’s finally your turn to shop till you drop. (Ladies are welcomed too.)

Admission is free. For more information, visit their website

3. Fête De La Musique music festival at The Square, Publika, 4pm – 11.30pm, 18 June

The Le French Festival in Malaysia is wrapping up this weekend with KL’s edition of the worldwide phenomenon called Fête De La Musique. There will be stunning live performances from French singer Mathilde Limal and her band Béchamel Mucho, Malaysia’s upcoming half-French hip hop artist SonaOne and a number of other local acts. Your hunger (and thirst) will be taken care of as there will be food vendors which include BIG, Nathalie Gourmet and Carlsberg. Also, if you’ve got a case of the EuroCup 2016 fever, there will be a live screening of the Iceland vs Hungary match (because it’s hosted in France).

Admission is free. For more information, visit their event page

4. Free rooftop yoga session to celebrate International Yoga Day at Padang@One Utama, 8am – 9.30am, 19 June

Welcome the weekend with a yoga session accompanied by a breathtaking morning view. Suitable for all levels, it will be led by Surya Yoga’s senior teachers. After that, there will be a ‘Secret Garden Tour’ for the best yoga photo contest where the winner will get yoga equipment worth RM500.

Admission is free but registration is required. For more information, visit the event page.
