Buro vs SEA Games 2017 athlete Sin Li Jane in bowling

In 2015, Malaysia emerged as the overall champion for bowling with a total of 10 medals, including five golds, at the Singapore SEA Games. Sin Li Jane was one of the members of the team that saw to that victory. The 25-year-old, along with her partner Esther Cheah, contributed to a gold in the women’s doubles as well as in the women’s team-of-five event. In 2011 at the Palembang SEA Games, she won a silver in the women’s singles and a bronze in the team-of-four. There was no bowling in the 2013 Games.

But beyond the biennial Games, Li Jane has accomplished a slew of titles at other world-standard competitions with one of the most recent ones being a champion at the prestigious Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) Tour, specifically the Lincoln Open. She is the second Malaysian player to claim a PWBA Tour title.

We managed to catch up with her for a quick chat on her upcoming preparations as well as a game of bowling. Watch the video below to see how Buro 24/7 Malaysia’s Senior Lifestyle Writer Rachel Au fared against our national athlete.

The bowling events are happening from 20 till 25 August at Sunway Mega Lanes in Sunway Pyramid. Admission is free.
