Safari chic: Venture into the urban jungle in style

Reality check—it’s an urban jungle we live in, whether we like it or not. But the question is: Are you dressed appropriately for it? Of course, the safari theme isn’t exactly new when it comes to the world of fashion. Over the years, we have seen it take many forms, from classic animal prints to modern utilitarian chic. At SS16, it seems that notions of an urban safari have come out to play. Think feminine, billowy silhouettes, exotic palm prints coupled with satin sheens, updated animalistic features and bold punches of colour.

Flowing silhouettes: Alberta Ferretti

Draped in comfort and soft femininity, Alberta Ferretti adds a pop of chunky accessories to the ensembles to seal the safari chic look.

Sophisticated hues: Dries Van Noten

Take a cue from Dries Van Noten and dress in clashing exotic colours or jewel tones (that work), it will definitely score you ample style points.

Urban jungle glam: Versace

Trust Versace to bring utilitarian glamour accompanied by jungle influence to the table — how cool is that sequined leopard print-adorned organza number?

Structural + print galore: Rochas

Bold and beautiful is how Rochas does it, with a staple side of sophistication. Pair your look with a dainty pair of shoes for a quaint finish.
