A look at Spring 2018's wildest shoe silhouettes, from thigh-high plastic boots to orthopedic heels (the irony!)
This Spring/Summer 2018 might just be the coolest season in terms of shoe trends—quite literally. Designers are making us take a hike in boots—just about the least summery choice of footwear out there. Surprisingly, we've spotted calf- and knee-skimming boots of all sorts this fashion month, from Chanel's plastic fantastic boots to Saint Laurent's "yeti" boots (fur-covered, no less), giving sandals and slip-ons a run for its money next summer. Other outrageous silhouettes include Off-White's plastic wrapped pointy-toe heels in collaboration with Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton's thick-soled kicks that are bringing back the ugly sneaker trend, and Loewe's elf shoes that resemble sneakers with a Morrocan-slipper twist.
