Paris Men’s SS18 Street Style: Go big and think boxy

Boxy jackets, boxy shoulders, boxy shorts. The look that is equal parts roomy and structured has garnered quite the following amongst the most-photographed faction of fashion week. Today, we examine the inclinations of the style societé when it comes to working the squarish silhouette. Extended shoulders seem to be the most obvious route, with the shoulder pads making a conspicuous return. Shift dresses with straight side seams and crisp shirting made for a minimalist rendition of the trend. But spotted most frequently at the Men’s Summer 2018 shows in Paris were the capacious trousers favoured by both sexes. From tailored shorts to doubtlessly airy culottes and floppy pants, comfort and style came as a package deal this season. Overall, exaggerated proportions reigned supreme while normcore aesthetics kept looks from appearing overtly flamboyant.
