Kicking off the season
Opening 2017’s slew of award ceremonies is the 28th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival in California. Hollywood’s A-listers such as Tom Hanks, Annette Benning, Ryan Gosling, Dev Patel, and Nicole Kidman showed up on the red carpet decked in glam threads, kicking off the new year with a bang. Winners of the night included the industry’s veterans and rising stars—Tom Hanks brought home the Icon Award for his performance in “Sulley” and Ruth Negga’s Rising Star Award for her leading role in “Loving”. Red carpet fashion wise, celebs didn’t disappoint in feminine gowns and sleek suits—Nicole Kidman and Ruth Negga’s gowns had a saccharine sweet sentiment, while Kirsten Dunst and Natalie Portman thought to amp the glam factor with pewter and midnight hues respectively.
