When the Marc Jacobs store was unveiled over the past weekend, we could hardly contain ourselves—it was practically an early Christmas wish came true. The 140 square-meter retail space offers various categories of the Marc Jacobs collection, including ready-to-wear, accessories, jewellery and fragrances; sounds like it is the perfect place to look for gifts.

Inspired by Marc's penchant for furniture and interior design, the store's design concept is based on the forthcoming retail design language for the brand. With its sleek and modern interior, graphic black and white treatments are combined with polished silver, brass and lacquer, black and white flooring with marble inserts heighten the luxurious ambience, while on the walls, modular shelves in brass frames display the handbag selection.

The new store opens with the Marc Jacobs Resort 2017 collection, where bright neon colours, bold graphics and animal prints come to life. Prepared to be greeted with geometric stripes and checks, heavy embellishment and embroidery, acid-washed denim jackets and leather coats. Our personal favourite? Sweatshirts featuring a sequin MTV logo, ought to be the It-piece this season. The bags are a statement itself with printed patchwork with metal hardware chains. For more tropical vibes, details like rainbows, flamingoes and palm trees are seen in both pave charms and patches on military-inspired outerwear.

Marc Jacobs is located at G09, Level Ground at Suria KLCC
