#KLFWRTW2017: FashionValet celebrates local talents with #IAmHomegrown campaign

As the main sponsor of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week this year (and for the month of August), FashionValet rolled out a campaign that is all about instilling national pride, aptly named “#IAmHomeGrown”. Featuring more than 60 local personalities from different industries and backgrounds such as actress and film producer Puan Sri Tiara Jacquelina, famed fashion designers Khoon Hooi and Alia Bastamam, and comedian Harith Iskander, regardless of their race, religion and political views, they have all come together to support the campaign. Aside from the portraits display at its Pavilion store (and at various spots in the mall) during KLFW, FashionValet has also launched a streetwear collection featuring the #IAmHomegrown slogan, from T-shirts to sweaters and dresses in monochrome hues.

Speaking of the campaign, FashionValet’s Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Fadzarudin Anuar says, “There is one thing that binds us together in this country regardless of race, religion or political views—we are, first and foremost, Malaysians. In the spirit of Merdeka, the birth of #IAmHomegrown aims to celebrate who we are, our contribution as Malaysians as well as to highlight those who have paved the way for us”.
