PFW SS16: Rochas

Alessandro Dell’Acqua’s muse for the season is Gala Dalí, wife of Salvador, and inspiration for him and many other artists in the Surrealist art scene, which translated into a whimsical world of artful collection—exaggerated bows, oversized silhouettes, and intricate yet quirky embroidery (a herd of giraffes under the sun, anyone?).

It was a scene of textural delight on the runway, from sleek satin sheens and ruffles, to embellishments and swaying fringe on organza. Although sweet pastel shades dominated the presentation, the final black and gold looks made a statement with their strong, regal hues and exquisite detailing.
