NYFW SS16: Victoria Beckham

For the first time since her namesake label’s debut in 2008, prints play a key role in Victoria Beckham’s latest collection with an eclectic assortment of bold gingham and digital and screen surfer prints in hues of blue, orange and bold red.

With its surfer feel in place, silhouettes were looser and “liberating” (as Beckham would describe it), with flowing culottes and languid skirts that diverged from the brand’s eminent body-con fits. Alongside this, boogie board-inspired oversized half moon shoulder bags made their way onto the catwalk to bolster this unflustered vibe.

Amongst the sea of soft, fluid shapes, Beckham nonetheless offered more sophisticated designs—a refreshing take on her tailored structures, with refined sportswear: printed bomber jackets and suede separates, which drew a fine line between sporty chic and urban minimalism.
