LFW SS16: Simone Rocha

Inspired by Kyoto’s alluring blossoms along with the sketchier side of the city, Simone Rocha’s signature pretty-with-an-edge dresses retained its femininity (think pink, puff-sleeved chiffon dresses) while offering atypical elements that bonded remarkably well together.

Ribbons, cloud-like and floral prints were found on pale pink day dresses, but the soft prettiness was thrown off-balance with a netted interwoven bodice made from a jelly-like material. Black bandoliers and bondage-like neoprene straps encircled the torso, evidently influenced Rocha’s said inspiration, Japanese contemporary photographer and artist Nobuyoshi Araki who is famous for his erotic photography.
