LFW SS16: Paul Smith

Paul Smith’s new woman will wear a power suit to work. It will be in standard issue navy but with a slight sheen, double-breasted with slender peak lapels and just for fun, she’ll throw it over a bright yellow sweater. Pants are loose and languid because she also knows how to chill out and flatform sandals tell the world she believes that both form and function are of equal importance. She’s in a corner office but she’s the first to hit the bar on a Friday night and most likely last to leave. Modern, creative, powerful and in complete control of her destiny.

Colours were bright and poppy: flashes of orange, yellow and teal providing contrast against beige, grey and navy. Wide-legged culottes instead of pants gave extra dimension to a traditional pantsuit (and looked extremely comfortable to boot). Whoever this new woman is, we want to be her (or at least look like her).
