Juwei Teoh and Brian See deliver punk attitude in the best of MCM SS17

Beyond the tattered clothes, crazy hair and loud music, punk is really all about attitude. It disassembles tradition and authority, rebuilding it wherever and however it pleases. For Munich-born accessories brand MCM, Punk Ethos was the perfect launching pad for their SS17 collection.

House staples such as the Patricia and the Berlin bags were reimagined in bold colours like Atomic Orange, Punk Green and Electric Pink. Delicate pearl studs adorn badass leather jackets and bags—a non-traditional take on embellishment. MCM’s iconic rabbit was also given a brand new look with a violent shock of brightly coloured hair.

Another highlight of SS17 was debuted at London Collections: Men. British designer Christopher Raeburn lent his unique viewpoint to a capsule collection that focussed on the use of technical fabrics and sustainable materials. Raeburn paid tribute to MCM’s travel heritage, with a seasonless, sustainable, unisex and multifunctional collection for the modern traveller. “I found it thrilling to collaborate with a like-minded brand that shares my passion for innovation and sustainability, said Raeburn on the collection. “Together, we have created a new vision of travel and luxury for the 21st-century global nomad.”
