Buro 24/7 Malaysia Digital Awards 2016: Vote for your favourite influencer

Between creating our very own Buro 24/7 Softsrve and the #BuroLovesGiving Charity Market, sending out the #BuroLovesGiving gift boxes and delivering buckets of #BuroLovesMoet, organising a Buro 24/7 Malaysia x SK-II Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea at The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur and a Buro 24/7 Malaysia x Benefit Brow Party, we’ve had all cylinders firing since our launch party. And come July, we’ll be turning ONE (#BuroTurnsOne) and to celebrate, we’re launching the first ever Buro 24/7 Malaysia Digital Awards

What is the Buro 24/7 Malaysia Digital Awards?

Well, it’s our way of acknowledging those who have made a significant contribution to the Malaysian digital sphere over the last year. And for our first Buro 24/7 Malaysia Digital Awards—which will coincide with our Buro 24/7 Malaysia Anniversary Party to be held at The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur on 1 July 2016—we will be handing out awards in four categories:

A. Best Malaysian female digital influencer

B. Best Malaysian male digital influencer

C. Best Malaysian digital start-up or project

D. Best Malaysian upcoming digital influencer (under 25)

How are the winners decided?

This is where you guys come in. Winners for each category will be decided through a combination of online voting (60%) plus offline votes cast by a panel of judges (40%) that includes the Buro 24/7 Malaysia editorial team, Buro 24/7 publishers and Mira herself.

What criteria is used to evaluate the nominees?

The nominees for each category (see below) were decided by the panel of judges who took into account the following quantitative and qualitative aspects of ‘influence’.

For Best Malaysian female digital influencer, Best Malaysian male digital influencer, and Best Malaysian upcoming digital influencer (under 25):

(a) Number of followers;

(b) Engagement of followers (ratio of average ‘likes’ to total followers);

(c) Professionalism (which includes accountability, integrity, reliability, work ethic and communication);

(d) Quality of content (which includes originality, creativity and aesthetic appeal); and

(e) Presence (which includes industry credibility, personality, passion, affability, and gravitas).

For the Best Malaysian digital start-up or project award, nominees must be:

(a) Malaysia-based;

(b) Predominantly digital in its operations; and

(c) Launched within the last three years (that is, not earlier than 2013),

as well as,

(d) Demonstrate innovation in their field;

(e) Achieved something significant in the last year; and

(f) Be relevant to the Buro 24/7 reader (that is, independent trendsetters with a global outlook for what’s new and what’s next).

And it will be these same criteria that we ask you, dear reader and voter, to consider when casting your vote.

How do I vote for my favourite influencer or digital start-up?

It’s super easy. All you have to do is:

(a) For each category below, carefully consider the above criteria; and

(b) Click on the image of the nominee you would like to vote for (one vote per category).

That’s it. You can also see the current poll position of each nominee by referring to their percentage votes at the bottom of each category.

So there’s only one thing left to do: Scroll down, vote, and get your friends to vote. Remember, every vote counts!

Voting ends on 21 June 2016. The winners will be announced at the Buro 24/7 Malaysia Anniversary Party to be held on 1 July 2016.
