Get acquainted with the OG of Puma’s legacy

What started as a rift between brothers produced two of the greatest shoe brands in the modern world. After a falling out with younger brother Adi Dassler, who went on to launch—yup, you’ve guessed it—Adidas, Rudolf Dassler started Puma in 1948.

This month, the trill of a joint celebration will ring through the halls of Puma, marking a tribute to its founder, in conjunction with the 50th birthday of one of its most iconic styles, the ‘Suede’. During its launch, the ‘Suede’ completely changed the canvas-and-leather sneaker scene with its surprising finesse. Timeless design, a classic Formstrip and grippy sole has rendered it a street legend #ForAllTime.

You’re looking at the Rudolf Dassler Suede. Black laces on black suede are accompanied by cream accents and a textured outsole. Subtle but significant, the corner of the heel bears a cat crawling through the letter “D”—Puma’s earliest rendition of its logo—making this a collector’s must-have.

These special edition kicks come packaged in a Suede 50 shoebox with metallic gold details and branding. Get your hands on a pair at Puma KLCC, Pavilion, Sunway Pyramid and The Gardens.
