Earlier this year, first news of the 2018 Pirelli Calendar sparked conversation- positive ones-for its decision to star an all-black cast (see the full list here). We were certainly looking forward to see how photographer Tim Walker’s reimagining of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland with the 18 protagonists would turn out.
Fast forward few months later, and here we are—the 45th edition of the Pirelli Calendar was just unveiled in New York. The whimsical shoot was styled by British Vogue’s Edward Enninful, whose first issue for the magazine was recently released, featuring the striking British model and activist Adwoa Aboah. Aboah is also photographed for the calendar, taking on the role of Tweedledee from Alice’s world.
