Hypnotising audiences with their ambient tunes since the early 2000s, M83 is no stranger to the general electro-synthpop lover. It was in 2011 that the band’s sixth studio album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming garnered the attention of the Grammy Awards (with a nomination for Best Alternative Album). This year – five years following the success of the album – the band is back with a new studio album, which, to the delight of many a fan, also marks M83’s return to the international touring circuit.
Following M83’s North American tour in April, frontman Anthony Gonzalez and his band will land on Southeast Asian shores this May, in Singapore, for a Laneway Presents show. We can only hope that the band will reveal some tunes from their upcoming album, which Gonzalez has described as “more fun and fresh” with “a lot of eclecticism.”
