Classic local album covers, reimagined — you can own one too
Discover 12 album covers that have been given a creative makeover by local designers at Cooler Lumpur this weekend

In case you missed the memo, Cooler Lumpur is back for its fifth edition this week. From tomorrow till this Sunday, join in the festival of ideas and catch a series of thought-provoking workshops, presentations, film screenings and panel discussions at Publika.

Returning with the festival is re:cover, an initiative by TBWA\KL where classic album covers are given a contemporary reinterpretation. Supported by The Recording Industry Association of Malaysia (RIM), this project explores how music transcends time through artistic interpretations. While last year saw iconic international records undergo a creative makeover, this year will see 12 classic local albums reimagined by 12 designers. The designers onboard re:cover this year include Driv Loo, Ellie See, NS Foon, Olivia Ariferiani and Aida Sa'ad.

Here's a sneak peak at some of the reimagined album art:

Think the album art will be great for display in your room or music corner at home? All re:cover art will actually be up for auction, with proceeds going to local musicians. You can place your bid on location at White Box or online at www.tbwa.com.my/re-cover from 19 August to 3 September 2017.

Re:cover will be on display at White Box, Publika. For more information on the Cooler Lumpur festival, visit the website.
